If you need air duct cleaning services in Utah, you have two choices: high-powered vacuum technology from Crystal Clean Vents Inc. or the less-effective methods that the other companies use. Crystal Clean Vents Inc. has the right equipment to get the job done completely, so you don’t have to worry about dirty air coming out of your vents and circulating throughout your home or business. Since 1999, our professional team has been perfecting our air duct cleaning process, so you can enjoy fresher, healthier air.
Step 1: Our team walks through your home, making sure the furnace is off and the registers are closed. We then lay down plastic where necessary to ensure your home stays clean throughout the process. After these preparatory measures, we run a large vacuum hose from our Power Vac truck to your furnace room. We wrap the furnace filter in a plastic bag and reinstall it into the furnace to separate the supply from the return side so no debris comes through the furnace during the cleaning process.
Step 2: We turn on our state-of-the-art 16,000 CFM (cubic feet per minute) Power Vac truck and wait for your HVAC system to come under negative pressure, which ensures all vents are closed. When this occurs, we are ready to proceed with the cleaning.
Step 3: Starting from the register vent that is farthest away, we run an agitation tool down each branch line (air duct tube) until it reaches the trunk box. The vacuum continually extracts the dislodged dust and debris, pulling it out of your home and into our Power Vac truck. Unlike other air duct cleaning companies that lack the appropriate equipment, dust is never blown throughout your home. This process is then repeated at each register vent.
Step 4: Once all the branch lines have been cleaned, we proceed to clean out the trunk lines. The supply and return side is the heart of your system, but it’s usually overlooked by most air duct cleaners because their inferior machinery lacks the power to clean these larger duct runs. We use a reverse air jetting agitation tool to bring the big debris back to the vacuum hose, similar to what plumbers use to clean out pipes. Unlike plumbers, we do not use water, only high compressed air, which is much safer.
Step 5: We take off all your register vent covers, including the return grills, and clean and sanitize them using an EPA-registered sanitizer. All the cleaning solutions that we use at Crystal Clean Vents are safe to use in your home. We then reinstall all the vent covers.
Step 6: After the system has been completely cleaned, we proceed to clean the AC coil on the inside of your furnace. We use a solution to wash away dirt, debris, and hair. This allows the coil to operate much more efficiently with better air flow.
Step 7: Now it’s time to clean the furnace. We thoroughly clean the blower motor, squirrel cage, fins, burners, heat exchanger, and all electrical components. We even clean the control board. When the dirt and grime have been removed, we sanitize the furnace and hand-wipe it down with micro-fiber rags.
Step 8: Once the system has been thoroughly cleaned, we fog the HVAC system with an EPA-approved air duct sanitizer using an ultra-low volume fogger (ULV). This helps to clean the system to bare metal and sterilizes the system after the cleaning. Because we’ve used our product to clean inside the Utah Heart and Lung Institute, we have no doubt that it will be safe to use in your home as well.
Step 9: Now that the system is cleaned and sanitized, we open all the vents and turn the furnace back on. Then, we check it to make sure it is operable. We install a new filter and seal all access points. We then allow the furnace to run while we roll up the plastic and do a final walkthrough.
